- We can show the totality of our activities that are undertaken in the JSW Group in the area of education and training in the broadest sense - said Tomasz Cudny, President of the JSW Management Board, opening the conference in Katowice. - We all know that the coking coal we mine in our mines will be needed for many years to come, but in order to be competitive, in order to be effective, we need to keep improving, so in our company the issue of professional development and training occupies a very important place - added Tomasz Cudny.

The conference was an excellent opportunity to share experience, innovative ideas and present the full spectrum of educational activities with invited speakers. The meeting brought together experts, authorities of the scientific and educational community, as well as representatives of business and mining. They discussed the challenges facing mining vocational education and the role played by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa and JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo in this system.

- JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo is engaged in education at the level of planning professional qualifications for our employees. We also have wide-ranging tasks resulting from the patronage of our schools, pro-social activities in the field of education, and we have decided to share these activities - said Gabriel Cyrulik, President of the Management Board of JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo. - Currently we have patronage schools, there are also training courses awarding professional qualifications, but we are constantly looking to the future and further development of our employees, including through postgraduate studies - assured Cyrulik.

The meeting not only provided an opportunity to exchange experience but, above all, emphasized the importance of continuous development and innovation in the industry.

- The topics discussed at the conference, are mainly current topics that connect the world of CSR, education, among others, vocational education, as well as new technologies and projects, i.e. all the challenges we face - said Aldona Urbanek, head of training and development at JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo.

Based on the cooperation between JSW and the AGH University of Science and Technology, ways of adapting the curricula to the challenges of the new labor market requirements were presented.

- We need to recognize the trends and innovations in mining. We know very well that sustainable mining, digitization, digitalization, data analysis and security are important things, and we are adjusting education programs and preparing training courses and postgraduate studies. However, we would also like to see implementation doctorates in these areas - said Marek Borowski, PhD hab., associate dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

The conference was an outstanding success for JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo, which has only strengthened its position as a leader in mining training and promoting innovation in the industry.
