JSW: more months with production and sales above plan

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has published the assumptions of the JSW Group's Technical and Economic Plan (TEP) for 2025. According to the assumptions, coal production this year is expected to reach 13.37 million tons, including 11.35 million tons of coking coal. Coke production, in turn, is expected at 3.31 million tons. Coal sales were planned at 13.78 million tons, and coke sales at 3.16 million.

“We operate transparently and respond to the expectations of our employees, investors and analysts. By publishing the assumptions of the plan, we show that we have a clearly defined vision for the development of the Company and for stabilizing its operations in individual periods," said Ryszard Janta, President of the JSW SA Management Board.

In addition to the Technical and Economic Plan assumptions, the Company has published its operating results for April and May 2025. The Company is recording increasing production and sales. This is primarily the result of the implementation of the initiatives of the Strategic Transformation Plan introduced at JSW.

In both months, coal production was higher than planned. In April 2025, the Company's mines produced nearly 7 percent more coking coal than planned. May was even better, with an increase in coking coal production against plan of more than 20 percent. Overall, since the beginning of 2025, the Company has produced 9.6 percent more coking coal than assumed in the Technical and Economic Plan. Coking coal sales in the period, in turn, were 7.6 percent higher than planned. Coke production at JSW Group units has reached 99.5 percent since the beginning of the year. The Company has consistently moved away from mining steam coal, focusing on coking coal mining and coke production as its key strategic objective.

“The Strategic Transformation Plan we have introduced is yielding tangible results, as can be seen from the Company's published production and sales reports for recent months," says Adam Rozmus, Vice-President of the JSW SA. Management Board for Technical and Operational Matters.
