At yesterday’s meeting, the government approved a draft resolution on a support program for the coking coal mining industry, which will enable the introduction of safety net measures for employees of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. This is an essential document that will ultimately enable the implementation of all support measures in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Mining Act.
The program aims to ensure stable working conditions during the planned changes and to provide opportunities to take advantage of the provisions set forth in the Mining Act. These include, among other things, mining leaves, leaves for coal processing plant workers and one-off severance pays.
These tools are intended to help ensure that the workforce restructuring process is carried out in a socially responsible manner. The program will be implemented from 2026 to 2031.
