The day before, a new mining front was opened at the Knurów Section. In seam 408/3, longwall 6 has been commissioned with reserves of 380,000 tons of coal. The longwall is 240 meters long, has a strike of 752 meters and its height ranges from 1.5 to 2.2 meters. The longwall will remain in operation until mid-2027.
New longwalls in Pniówek and Knurów
Yesterday, longwall N-9 was commissioned at the Pniówek mine, providing reserves of high-quality coking coal of 308,000 tons. The longwall is 106 meters long and its strike is 658 meters. Its height is 4.2 meters. It was equipped with 69 powered support sections. The longwall will remain in operation until June 2027. This is the second longwall being mined in the N-2 area.
