"This is coal" competition settled

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa received more than a thousand applications, from which the jury selected the three best works. The purpose of the nationwide competition was to popularize knowledge of the presence of metallurgical coal in the modern world.

The competition question was: "How is metallurgical coal - transformed into steel - present in your daily life?" The participants showed great creativity and commitment. The jury paid special attention to the unconventionality of the works, personal stories and reflections.

“Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for participating in the contest, for your creativity and commitment. The number of works submitted exceeded our expectations and showed how important a raw material coking coal, also called metallurgical coal, is and how great a role it plays in everyday life," concluded Katarzyna Jabłońska-Bajer, head of the promotion team.

Prizes in the competition are awarded to:

  • First place - Paula Frajhofer - set of steel pots
  • Second place - Paweł Wolff - set of steel knives
  • Third place - Beata Marciniak - tool kit

In addition, 4 people were recognized: Sylwia Lempart, Angelika Olkowicz, Ewa Frajhofer and Karolina Kalinowska.

We are already announcing the next edition of the competition: a photo and a short mobile phone clip about metallurgical coal. We will publish the details soon. At the same time, we encourage you to visit the educational platform https://tojestwegiel.pl/ where you can find more information on coking coal.
