Rescue operation in KWK Pniówek completed
(UPDATE) After seven hours of rescue efforts, rescue workers reached two missing miners with whom contact had been lost after a methane leak in the N-9 working face at a depth of 830 meters. Unfortunately, the doctor pronounced them dead. Both miners were experienced workers with many years of service. The families of the victims received psychological support.
Ten rescue teams took part in the operation, including two teams from the Central Mining Rescue Station in Bytom, two from the Regional Mining Rescue Station in Wodzisław Śląski, and six from the Pniówek mine. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the Regional Mining Authority in Rybnik and the mine's OHS services.
The employees, Management Board, and Supervisory Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa express their deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, and colleagues of the deceased miners.

A rescue operation is underway at the Pniówek mine. Rescue workers are searching for two miners with whom contact has been lost after an incident that occurred after 5 p.m. in the N-9 working face at a depth of 830 meters. Ten miners were working in the working face, eight were evacuated, and two are missing. A rescue operation is underway underground, involving 10 rescue teams, two teams from the Central Mining Rescue Station in Bytom, two from the Regional Mining Rescue Station in Wodzisław Śląski, and six from the Pniówek mine.
