This is the first stage of the process. A total of 1,156 employees are eligible for the one-off severance payments. Every employee who decides to participate in the program will receive 170,000 zlotys.

The safety net program, which includes both One-Off Cash Severance Payments and mining leaves, is part of the transformation process for the hard coal mining sector, which will be implemented between 2026 and 2031. These measures are set forth in the amended Act on the Functioning of the Hard Coal Mining Industry and are funded from the state budget. The program will cover a total of 4,248 employees (One-Off Cash Severance Payments and mining leaves), and its estimated cost this year will be approximately PLN 500 million.

The voluntary separation program is open to all JSW SA employees who have at least three years of service and are at least one year away from becoming eligible for retirement.
