New quality in education

JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo and the Silesian University of Technology have entered into an agreement that begins a new era of cooperation in workforce training. The agreement calls for the creation of a new, innovative course of study called "Technological and Natural Transformation of Transformed Areas." The agreement was signed in the presence of Piotr Pyzik, deputy minister at the Ministry of State Assets.

The new educational program is designed for students and employees of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa.

- We proudly undertake this mission because we are well prepared for educational tasks. We are very pleased to open more courses to serve our employees and the public. We see our role here and will take care of recruitment - assured Gabriel Cyrulik, President of the Management Board of JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo. - We are confident that this initiative will contribute to the development of our employees and the strengthening of JSW's position in the mining sector. We are ready to cooperate with the Silesian University of Technology to achieve our goals - added Cyrulik.

The new course of studies is designed to substantively prepare engineers of the raw materials sector for optimal use of natural potential in the process of brownfields management.

- I'm glad that the university authorities were willing to consider the possibility of launching postgraduate studies at the Silesian University of Technology in the area of the technical and natural transformation of transformed areas - said Prof. Gabriela Woźniak of the Institute of Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Silesia. - I am glad that we managed to interest Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa in the proposal of a new postgraduate course. It is good for miners, in addition to their extensive knowledge that they must have in order to mine coal, to have some knowledge related to how this activity affects the natural environment and how to minimize these impacts, and how to use spontaneous natural processes in the development of areas created in connection with mining operations - added Prof. Gabriela Woźniak.

Among others, the agreement was signed by Prof. Franciszek Plewa, dean of the Faculty of Mining, Engineering, Safety and Industrial Automation at the Silesian University of Technology, in the presence of Piotr Pyzik, deputy minister at the Ministry of State Assets, who is enthusiastic about the signed agreement.

- The Faculty of Mining, Engineering, Safety and Industrial Automation should play a fundamental role in the civilizational transition that will undoubtedly come. This is also my expectation of the graduates in this field, because only people who understand these processes can regulate, design and plan them - believes Piotr Pyzik, deputy minister at the Ministry of State Assets.

The new course "Technological and Natural Transformation of Transformed Areas" is another step towards the sustainable development of the region and preparing new generations for industrial and environmental challenges.
