As at 31 August 2026, a total of 2,033 JSW employees had taken mining leave or leave for coal preparation plant employees. A total of 668 people received one-off cash severance payments.

The process is designed so that employee departures do not disrupt plant operations and ensure workplace safety. Each situation is considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the current staffing situation and the needs of the specific facility. The final approval for an employee's departure is granted by the plant manager.

According to the adopted projections, in 2026, 3,092 employees at JSW will be eligible for mining leave. This program is intended for individuals who have no more than five years remaining until they become eligible for retirement. For employees of coal preparation plants, the leave period may be up to four years.

The safety net program is expected to cover a total of 4,248 JSW employees. It includes leave for miners, leave for employees of coal preparation plants, and one-off cash severance payments introduced in May.

Data as of the end of August show that the program is proceeding as planned. Further departures will take place gradually, while maintaining a balance between the implementation of the safety net program and the need to ensure adequate staffing, operational continuity and workplace safety at JSW facilities.
