The report entitled "Analysis and assessment of the process of optimization of the business activity of JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo" was presented by Katarzyna Olejko, PhD, from the University of Economics in Katowice. - I carried out an analysis of the Company’s operations along various dimensions, in particular taking into consideration its role in the process of pursuit of the JSW Group’s corporate strategy. All observations indicate unambiguously that the Company has significant optimization potential. Only minor expenditures would be necessary to implement certain improvements resulting in a significant reduction in costs and an increase in resource efficiency. Cost reduction is a global challenge, while cost management is vital to the success of the enterprise, providing it with a competitive advantage - argued Dr. Katarzyna Olejko, the author of the report, during her presentation. In her address, she also emphasized the value of human capital for the Company and the opportunities arising from its development.

The report contains an in-depth analysis of the activities of JSW SiG, with special focus on its role in creation of value of the JSW Group and optimization potential. The report outlines the strengths and weaknesses in the company’s activities, which should be strengthened to leverage its opportunities. – I’m grateful that such a document has been drawn up. It is a precise review of the activities of our company and guidance for us as regards the search for development opportunities, new actions and development paths. What was particularly important for us was to recapitulate our process of acceptance of miners and their subsequent allocation to Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa’s mines.  It should be emphasized that we have accepted nearly three thousand employees, 2,700 of which have been employed in JSW mines. Consequently, we have become an adaptation and training company for JSW’s future employees. Therefore it was necessary to recapitulate this process in a group of JSW management board members, mine directors and all persons involved – said Gabriel Cyrulik, President of the Management Board of JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo.

This report is the initiative of Artur Wojtków – Vice-President of the JSW Management Board for Employment and Social Policy. Although JSW Szkolenie i Górnictwo has been operating since 2014, this document recapitulates the past three years of its operations. – We are happy with the activity of JSW SiG because the company has been very dynamic and reliable and the vision of its development has been clearly outlined. I’m confident about the future of this company – says Vice-President Wojtków, positively surprised by the report, encouraging the other JSW Group companies to draft similar documents. – The report presents not only an analysis but also solutions, proposals and recommendations. It is worth documenting the work and actions undertaken in all companies in our group – concludes Artur Wojtków.

JSW SiG faces a number of challenges, mainly HR problems pertaining to certain specializations, especially automation engineers, IT engineers or electricians. The company will have to address these challenges to provide not only trained mining workforce but also professionals on other positions.
