JSW for Children

The time spent with a child is the best time. On the Children’s Day this pleasure is double. Children from the orphanages in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. Cieszyn and Pszczyna, and the Jastrzębie special nursery took on the JSW employee team at the football pitch of the City Stadium. The first whistle was blown just after 3 pm, when the players of the first two teams ran onto the stadium field.

– Good form helped, but it was a challenge – says Oktawian, member of the winning children’s team. But in this game it was not victory but good fun that mattered. The match was opened by the President of the Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW S.A.) – To me, this meeting is exciting in two ways. First, we can give a lot of joy to these wonderful children and, second, it’s the first time that I stood on the stadium pitch – said Barbara Piontek, the President of the JSW SA Management Board, just before the game.

Each meeting of this type is very precious to us. Without the support of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa we would not be able to afford such attractions – emphasized Iwona Spora, director of the “Ostoja” Child and Family Support Center in Pszczyna. There was no shortage of attractions: after a commemorative photo shoot with the players and handing out the medals to all young participants, the children could enjoy themselves at a bouncy castle playground and take part in sports competitions organized by GKS players.
