The business visit to Dąbrowa Górnicza took place at a key moment for JSW KOKS. - We are at a very important moment, just before the signing of a contract for battery no. 4 at the Przyjaźń Coking Plant, which will increase JSW KOKS’s production capacity. It is a company of strategic importance for the JSW Group - pointed out Barbara Piontek. - I know what cokers face on a daily basis, what problems they have, and I assure you that Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa will support their efforts in implementing all development plans - she added.
- I talk to both employees and trade unions. This project brings also tangible environmental benefits. It will make it possible to reduce emissions of dust, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides - emphasized Barbara Piontek, JSW S.A. President.

Construction of battery no. 4 in the Przyjaźń Coking Plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza is today key for maintaining the coke and hydrocarbons production capacity volume in the Group. The Dąbrowa plant accounts in total for 75 percent of the coke production in the whole Group and JSW KOKS S.A. has 3 coking plants (Przyjaźń, Radlin and Jadwiga) operating jointly 6 coke oven batteries, 4 of which are located in the Przyjaźń Coking Plant. In Q1 only, coke production totaled more than 0.9 million tons.
– The new battery will be built on the basis of the company’s technological documentation ensuring compliance with prevailing environmental protection requirements and allowing for implementation of state-of-the-art technical and technological solutions – emphasized Iwona Gajdzik-Szot, President of the JSW KOKS S.A. Management Board. – It will be built on the site of the previous battery, using the existing infrastructure elements, including, for example, the dry coke quenching installation – she added.
