Application for extension of the concession

Today (31 March 2025) Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA filed an application with the Ministry of Climate and Environment in Warsaw for an amendment to its concession no. 7/2009 for mining hard coal and methane as an accompanying mineral from the "Borynia" deposit.

The amendment to the concession relates to the extension of its term until 31 December 2042 as well as a change in the surface area of the mine site. The application was accompanied by a deposit development plan and an environmental decision. The term of concession no. 7/2009 expires on 31 December 2025. JSW SA filed its application to be able to continue mining operations in the "Borynia" hard coal deposit, where the amount of documented recoverable reserves up to the depth of 1,288 m makes it possible to continue mining at least until 2042.
