- We have beaten Poland’s record in terms of plasma. We are a major center in Poland; so far we have collected the largest quantities of plasma and much of the credit is due to miners from Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. Our Center is number one in Poland – said Gizela Kowol, director of the Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Center in Racibórz, who expressed her gratitude to miners in particular: - You are amazing. I wish you all the best and please do not forget us – keep coming and donating blood to the Center in Racibórz and our field branches in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Rybnik and Wodzisław Śląski – encouraged the director of the Racibórz-based Center.

The two-day drive was organized together with the Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Center in Racibórz. On Friday and Saturday, all field branches: in Rybnik, Wodzisław Śląski and Jastrzębie-Zdrój, as well as the Center in Racibórz, were open. The blood donors included Senator of the Republic of Poland Ewa Gawęda: – This campaign is awesome and the turnout impressive. I am very happy and proud that so many miners have responded to the appeal. I am donating blood myself just to encourage miners’ wives and families to do the same – the Senator said.

Artur Dyczko, Vice-President of the Management Board for Technical and Operational Matters, was very impressed with the activity and commitment of the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa employees. He thanked the crew: - We are showing to the entire Poland what we mean by helping and how this matches the ethics of miners’ work – said the JSW VP and added: - After the drive held on July 10th and 11th, we decided, together with the JSW Foundation, to donate equipment to the field branch in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, so that our employees were able to donate blood and plasma peacefully in the best conditions possible. Among others, we invested in replacing the chairs, in a sealing station and laptop computers, because those were the things that the branch in Jastrzębie-Zdrój needed the most – Artur Dyczko said.

Special thanks to the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa miners were sent by the National Blood Center. - I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for your selfless gift to people who are ill and need treatment with blood or its components. Thank you with all my heart for your commitment, dedication and sensitivity – Sebastian Twaróg, deputy director of the National Blood Center, wrote in his official letter of thanks.
