Rafako from Racibórz will build the power unit in the Radlin Coking Plant owned by JSW Koks. The grand signing of the agreement took place at the European Economic Congress in the presence of Jerzy Kwieciński, Minister of Investments and Development, and Grzegorz Tobiszowski, Vice-Minister of Energy. It was emphasized many times that the project was made part of the Program for Silesia.
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa became a partner of the Science and Technology Symposium “Silicon Valley Poland Days 2019” organized by the US-Polish Trade Council on the Stanford University campus from 1 to 3 May. Agnieszka Hankus-Kubica, Vice-President of JSW Innowacje, presented the company’s ambitious plans of developing groundbreaking technologies and the first deployments of the unique PANSA UTM POWERED BY HAWK-E system.
The miners who went on an eternal shift were commemorated today in the Zofiówka Section. In the mine pithead, a widow of a miner who was killed from a rock bump last year, Daniel Ozon, JSW President of the Management Board, and Prelate Bernard Czernecki unveiled a plaque dedicated to all victims of mining accidents in the Zofiówka mine in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
A meeting was held in the Pniówek mine to summarize the annual work performed by a special team appointed by the JSW Management Board for the purpose of selecting solutions to significantly upgrade the standards of communications, identification and monitoring of employees working underground in JSW’s mines soon.
Removing negative effects of mining is one of the objectives of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, which does not avoid responsibility for its operations. On the one hand, JSW does everything to mitigate possible impact on the environment, and on the other it tries to reclaim degraded areas. A proof of this responsibility is the invitation of experts from the Silesian University to cooperate at the International Mining Forum 2019.
More than 800 participants from numerous countries of the world, three panels during the plenary session and two hundred lectures during fifteen thematic sessions. This is the result of the two-day International Mining Forum, which took place at the International Congress Center in Katowice, in the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa plants and in Kraków.
The second day of the International Mining Forum 2019 abounds in events. A series of agreements was signed in Katowice between JSW Group entities and specialist companies, and a debate on safety and efficiency of production was held. Panels were held in several locations, among others in Katowice, Kraków and Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
