Two additional longwalls with coking coal

In December 2019, two additional longwalls were launched in the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa mines.

One of them was opened in the Pniówek mine in Pawłowice.  The C-4 longwall is operated in seam 404/2 is 230 meters long and has the strike length of nearly 960 meters. The coking coal available to be mines is over 750 thousand tons. Daily output is planned at 3 thousand tons. The longwall will be mined until January 2022. The other longwall was launched in the Borynia Section of the composite mine in seam 409/1-2. The B-31 longwall is 210 meters in length. It strike is 760 meters and the resources are more than 615 thousand tons of good quality coal. Daily output is scheduled at 3 thousand tons. The mining of the longwall is to be completed in November 2020.

Currently coal in JSW mines is produced from 27 longwalls. By carrying out over 10 kilometers more of preparatory work this year, JSW has secured a work front for the coming year.
