The search for three miners continues

Rescue workers are utilizing all the possibilities available to reach the miners trapped in the mining pit. Many firms and institutions have offered to help in the rescue operation.

The Ministry of National Defense and the Navy in Gdynia are among the ones to offer their assistance. They have proposed to deploy equipment to conduct an underwater search. Consultations are currently underway with the operation’s crisis management team on the opportunities for employing specialist equipment.

At present, the mine rescue workers are focusing on installing pumps and hoses. Three of the four pumps have already been installed. The final one is to be installed in the flooded area.

We are doing our utmost to get through the rubble as fast as possible to place the pump in the flooded area. Unfortunately, the divers’ equipment is so big that they are not able to get through”, said Daniel Ozon, CEO of JSW. If the water level subsides, the rescue workers will go in and penetrate the roadway.

In this same time, the air and drainage drilling rig has bored a hole through 20 of the 100 meters from round-shaped tunnel F to the H10 roadway.

The next update will be distributed around 12 p.m.
