Polish Cup returns to JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel

After a 15-year hiatus, the volleyball players once again took the TAURON Polish Cup, defeating Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie 3:1 in the final in Kraków. After the great success, the team appeared with the trophy at the headquarters of JSW, the title sponsor, where they celebrated winning the trophy.

In the grand finale of the TAURON Polish Cup, the players showed class and character, turning the game around after losing the first set and dominating the next three. With a 3:1 victory over a team from Zawiercie - the club won the prestigious trophy for the second time in its history.

- We are happy to share this joy with the people who are with us throughout the season. This cup is the result of cooperation, trust and support that we feel at every step and for which we are grateful - said Tomasz Fornal of JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel.

On Wednesday (16 April), the volleyball players were welcomed by representatives of the JSW Management Board, who congratulated the team on its great success. 

- Moments like these show that the partnership between sports and business has real value. As the title sponsor, we are proud to accompany the team on its way to the highest trophies - said Ryszard Janta, President of JSW SA. - The fact that the players came to us with the cup is a great honor for us. We feel honored to be part of this beautiful history. We already wish them good luck in the fight for the Polish Championship - added President Janta. 

Jastrzębie volleyball players have been promoting the JSW brand at home and abroad for years. It is worth recalling that the team has recently been playing in PlusLiga and the Champions League under the name JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel. 

- The visit to our sponsor's headquarters is a beautiful gesture and an important moment. Thank you for your trust and support. For more than twenty years we have been working together to build a team that, thanks to our financial support, develops and succeeds in the national and international arena - stressed Adam Gorol, President of the JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel Club.

Thanks to the support, the Club has won medals and trophies both nationally and internationally. In total, it won the Polish Championship four times, won the Polish Super Cup twice, won the Polish Cup twice, reached the Polish Vice-Championship four times and won the Polish Championship bronze medal eight times. In addition, its collection includes two silver and one bronze Champions League medals, as well as a Challenge Cup silver medal and a Club World Championship silver medal.
