Our miners are the film protagonists

Three employees of Borynia Site and a geologist from Budryk took part in the production carried out by the Discovery Channel. The six-part program "Górnicy PL" will show the backstage of the coal, copper and salt mines, as well as the daily life of the miners and the conditions of their work.

The "Górnicy PL" special episode will be available on December 6 at 22:00 on the Discovery Channel. This is the preview of the series, of which the premiere is scheduled for January 18 at 22:00.

The protagonists of the film are Dawid Kierc, Szymon Siwiec and Robert Jaczyński from the G4b branch in the Borynia Site, which last year was recognized by the State Mining Authority as one of the safest branches in Polish mining. The film's protagonist is also Malwina Smulska, a mining geologist from Budryk mine. She is one of the few women working underground.

The producers did not have a ready script for the film. Everything was done in natural conditions. The film crew consisted of seven people. Everything was recorded from two, and sometimes even three cameras. The filmmakers had to limit the amount of equipment to adapt to underground conditions. They ensure that the document is unique on a global scale.
