Online platform for training and information for JSW employees

On Friday, January 10th "Foreman Zone and more" is to be launched. This is the first website of this type in Polish mining industry, with a lot of information useful in daily work.

-The idea of creating such a platform is the result of my observations namely supervision staff having difficult access to the materials they need if they ( or any other persons) want to determine their qualifications. This is not a complete set of knowledge, but it will certainly be of great help for them. People often do not know where to look for current legislation and what should be learned. Also the mining enthusiasts who want to test their knowledge of health and safety, can benefit from this website - emphasizes Zbigniew Schinohl, the originator and author of the project, former director of the District Mining Office in Rybnik.

The platform covers a wide range of information, among others, on ascertaining the qualifications to perform the operations in the mining plant, the texts of the basic legal acts, the sample exam questions, control tests, allowing for extending their knowledge in the field of mining regulations, labor law and health and safety regulations, extracts of the important mining regulations, brochures and occupational health and safety leaflets and first aid rules. Sets of questions and tests come from the JSW SA, WUG Katowice, OUG in Rybnik and OUG in Gliwice. Where appropriate, they will be supplemented and updated.

Given the nature of some of the information in the “ Foreman Zone and more” it will be available for JSW employees only.  The online platform for training and information was created among others thanks to Advicom Sp. z oo employees, JSW SA Health and Safety Team , the Representative of the Board of Directors and Representatives of Directors of the mines/sites of the Company for the Integrated Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management Coordinators.

In addition to a number of useful information, the online competition in the field of knowledge of safety rules and regulations will be placed on the website. The competition will last from January to September 2014 in the form of tests on the website in the " Safety Competition " tab. Each participant will be able to try to resolve the competition test only once a month. Apart from the competition there can be any number of attempts to solve the  test . The winners of the first three places in a given month will receive a financial reward . The winner of the first edition of the " Internet competition in the field of knowledge of the rules and regulations of safety " is an employee who, in the classification of the total ( the sum of 9 tests monthly ) will get the highest number of points in the shortest possible time. In addition, six staff members (one from each mine / site ) , who gain the most points in the shortest amount of time,  will be automatically qualified to participate in the finals of the fifth edition of " Competition in the field of knowledge of safety rules and regulations for the Cup of JSW SA President ", which will be held in October 2014.
