Jastrzębska Spółka Weglowa changes Polish industry

|   Investors Relations - common

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has been honoured by the editorial staff of the Nowy Przemysł monthly, the wnp.pl website and the PTWP Publishing Group with the title of “The One who Changes Polish Industry”. The Company has been awarded for the stock exchange debut, which was a breakthrough for the sector, and for creating a strong coal and coke group.

In support of the verdict, it was stated that JSW’s debut influenced the perception of the entire Polish hard coal industry. The Company proved that it is possible to successfully change a great mining entity into a public company, introducing order to its complicated structure. Consequently, prospective investors perceive the mining industry to have a potential for development. It was also emphasised that JSW managed to complete all acquisitions provided for in the issue prospectus, consistently develops the power segment, pursues an ambitious investment programme, and – having implemented modern tools for task and project management – it has also become a leader of computerization in its industry.

“The title of a Company that changes Polish Industry is a distinction for the whole team and all JSW employees”, said Jarosław Zagórowski, President of the Management Board of JSW S.A. “The last several months were full of great challenges and significant achievements for our Company. And I mean not only the successful stock exchange debut, but also investments, introducing order to the group, and consistently building our market position. Therefore, the fact that we have received an award for specific achievements and successes is an additional reason for satisfaction, and a confirmation that the position of JSW is not the effect of momentary market situation, but of a thoughtful and consistently introduced business strategy.”

The award was presented during an official gala in Warsaw on 10 February 2012.
