The stage was given to Silesian Medical University Choir, directed by Marta Zielińska, and the Miners' Brass Band, led by Grzegorz Pakura. The concert was a tribute to those who paid the highest price for their work in the mines. The initiative was implemented by Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa in cooperation with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The combined performance of the choir and the orchestra had a symbolic dimension - it emphasized the importance of cooperation between the medical community and the mining industry, as well as the smooth operation of multiple institutions in emergency situations.
“For our Company, security is not just a duty - it is the foundation of all decisions. We invest heavily in modern security systems, threat detection technology and professional training. In recent years, investments in safety have been steadily increasing - not because they have to, but because we know the importance of every return home after a completed shift," said Ryszard Janta, President of the JSW SA Management Board, before the concert began, adding: “Today's concert is also a form of thanks - to those who watch over the safety and health of our employees, to the rescue workers, doctors, and - just as importantly - to the miners' families who support them every day in this difficult work.
The event brought together some 300 guests, including representatives of mining institutions, hospitals, the medical school and local governments. During the ceremony, a check was presented to the Miners' Families Foundation, which has been providing care for widows and orphans of tragically deceased miners.
