90-millionth ton of coke at the Przyjaźń Coking Plant

The Przyjaźń Coking Plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza, owned by JSW KOKS S.A. (JSW Group) is celebrating a unique event - on 22 September 2025, the 90-millionth ton of coke in the plant's history was pushed. This is an important moment that underscores the long-standing contribution of the entire company to the development of the Polish steel industry and its strategic importance to the JSW Group.

- The 90 million tons of coke is not only an impressive production result, but first and foremost proof of the great efforts of the entire JSW KOKS S.A. staff. Thanks to their knowledge, commitment and responsibility, we can celebrate this historic moment today. It is also a signal that the company remains a pillar of the coking industry and a partner for the metallurgical industry in Poland and Europe - said Jerzy Woliński, President of the Management Board of JSW KOKS S.A.
 

Coke pushing is a key step in the coking process, involving the ejection of hot coke from the coke chambers after the coking process is complete. The first coke was push at the Przyjaźń Coking Plant on 27 January 1987, when the first 16 tons of coke were pushed out of the then Battery No. 1. JSW KOKS S.A. is one of the largest producers of blast-furnace coke in Europe. Modern technologies, continuous investment and high product quality make the company play a key role in the supply chain of raw materials for metallurgy.
