The new halls in Suszec will be built in the “design and build” procurement route. This project marks the beginning of the JZR Development Program, which will allow to expand the production and repair business conducted by JZR. As a result, the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa units will receive products that are newer and of better quality. - The financing of the JZR Development project is guaranteed by resolution Adopted by the JSW Management Board. We know how to execute this project and the first step is to sign a contract with the general contractor - says Rafał Rychter, President of the Management Board of Jastrzębskie Zakłady Remontowe.

Thanks to this investment carried out by Jastrzębskie Zakłady Remontowe, which are part of the JSW Group, the location in Suszec will initially employ 37 people, mainly steel fixers, welders and turners. The plans however call for an increase of employment to a total of 170 people – mainly people living in Suszec and the surrounding area.

The halls will be used to produce rails for suspended railways, main pipelines, rollers for belt conveyors, enclosures for scraper conveyors and powered support sections. These products were selected after an analysis of demand, both historical and current, as well as plans of individual units Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. As a result, JSW SA will be able to become partially independent from suppliers of mining machinery and equipment.

The plan, which has just been launched, is a response to the market situation and a strategic decision of the Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, which envisages elevating JZR to the position of one of the largest Polish manufacturers of mining machinery and equipment and providing production and repair services for JSW S.A.

The complex of production and repair facilities will be built in Suszec by 2022. The first products will leave the production lines in Q1 2020.

The JZR Development program is the first element of the plan of revitalization of the grounds of the former Krupiński mine.  - It is part of a wider regional industrialization program – says Daniel Ozon, President of the JSW Management Board. - Thanks to the new project, JZR will not only increase its production potential, but we are also fulfilling our obligations related to the development of the grounds of the former Krupiński mine. This confirms our commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has ambitious plans related to revitalization of the former mine site in Suszec. A modern industrial complex will be developed, which will include, apart from the JZR facilities, also a factory of hydrogen cells used in electromobility and vehicles powered by this clean fuel, a modern carbon fiber production plant, as well as a unique underground pumped storage power plant. Another project being considered assumes development of a service and logistics center in this area. The revitalization program has been developed by experts and partners based on an analysis of opportunities and needs of the region as well as technological challenges that JSW also faces.

The construction commencement ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Suszec, Vice-President of the JSW Management Board for Strategy and the Management Board of JZR.
