JSW Koks SA was formed by combining the former Kombinat Koksochemiczny "Zabrze" (Dębieńsko Coking Plant, Radlin and Jadwiga Coking Plants) and also Przyjaźń Coking Plant from Dąbrowa Górnicza.

- Creation JSW Koks  is the culmination of many months of integration process implemented in accordance with the development plan  of JSW Group for the years 2010 - 2013 for the coke segment. During the process of combining coking plants we managed to sort out third party services such as transportation, laboratory services or IT. The aim is to rationalize the organization and cost of auxiliary activities, as well as relieving the production plants of its direct supervision. Coking plants can thus concentrate on the production of high quality coke - said Edward Szlęk, CEO of JSW Koks SA.

The production capacity of the new Company is currently almost 4 million tons of coke per year. To produce this amount of coke more than 5 million tons of coking coal is needed. Thus, JSW Koks SA became the largest recipient of coking coal from the mines JSW and its largest processing plant. Polski Koks will deal with  sale of coke produced by the JSW Koks SA (a company owned by JSW Group).

The creation of JSW Koks SA does not stop the process of integration of coking plants belonging to JSW. In a further step Wałbrzyskie  Zakłady Koksownicze "Victoria" are to be connected to JSW Koks SA.
