Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa becomes 100% owner of IT company Advicom and changes its name to JSW IT Systems. In accordance with the development strategy, JSW ITS is to become an integral part of the core production processes in JSW Group’s plants. The company will support the operation and development of modern IT systems which monitor the key machinery, equipment and processes in coal mining, transport and processing.

JSW has made JSW ITS responsible for launch of work on new IT projects that will be used, among others, to monitor and control the key production processes in the Company’s plants.

– A modern mine needs perfect communication, location, automation and, obviously, IT. Modern systems ensure appropriate control of the production processes, among others shearers, switchboards, ventilation or the most important area – oversight over human safety. IT is an important tool expected to serve our highly qualified miners, geologists, land surveyors, electricians, mechanics, processors and coking engineers – says Artur Dyczko, JSW Vice-President.

Management of a modern mining company requires a fully decision-making Data Analytics Center. For over a year JSW has had in place a Sophisticated Data Research Center (CZAD), where key information from the production monitoring and visualization systems are analyzed and reported on an ongoing basis. JSW IT System will support the management and control of such production data.

The capability to carry out multidimensional analyses and use the available knowledge in practice is one of the key factors impacting the company’s condition and its position in the competitive market.  The Jastrzębie-based company receives huge volumes of data from the production process – tens of gigabytes per day. In accordance with global big data trends and the company’s overriding interests, using JSW IT System, we want to introduce sophisticated analytical and IT tools. They will allow us to optimize the management and production processes, significantly improve work organization and have positive impact on utilization of resources – adds Artur Dyczko, JSW Vice-President.
