This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the scholarship award ceremony was limited to a token meeting with the students of the Secondary School Complex in Ornontowice. The scholarships were awarded to 6 students from this school – 3 pupils from the First Degree Vocational School and 3 best students from the Mining Secondary School. Figurative checks and gifts were handed over to the students by Artur Wojtków, Vice-President of the JSW Management Board for Employment and Social Policy, and Jarosław Rutkowski, Director of KWK Budryk.

– I congratulate everyone on their persistence in learning. Special congratulations should go to Wojciech Bialucha, who earned the average grade of 5.67, the highest among all the students who received a scholarship this year. I would also like to thank the teachers, because it is because of you that the students have such excellent results and we can give these prizes – said Artur Wojtków, Vice-President of the JSW Management Board for Employment and Social Policy.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Wojtków assured that the scholarship program will be continued next year. In addition, after finishing the school the leavers will be employed in Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa.

The Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa scholarship program covers over 700 students of schools specializing in teaching mining professions. Additionally, for two years, JSW has been awarding students who received the best grades during the school year.
