Mr. Krzysztof Szlaga received a Master’s degree in Economics from the Faculty of Finance and Banking at the Krakow University of Economics in 2001. In the same year, he also received the Diplom-Betriebswirt degree issued by the Department of Economics at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences in Germany. In 2020 he completed postgraduate studies and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree under the proprietary program of EY Academy of Business and WSB University.

In 2001, Krzysztof Szlaga joined KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft, Munich as an Audit Senior in the Commercial Clients Assurance Department. In 2004 he joined Ernst & Young Audit Sp. z o.o. as an Audit Senior in the Assurance and Business Services Department. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a Project Manager in the Restructuring/Operational Excellence and Corporate Finance Department of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants Sp. z o.o. From 2008 to 2010 he served as a Management Board member and Supply Chain Management Director at CTL Logistics S.A. From 2010 to 2012 he was Supply Chain Management Director at Ruch S.A.

From 2013 to 2018, Krzysztof Szlaga was associated with LW Bogdanka S.A., first as Vice-President of the Management Board for Procurement and Investments and then as President of the Management Board. During this period he was also a member of Euracoal (European Association for Coal and Lignite).

Subsequently, he was a Management Board member responsible for Finance at Ciech S.A. From 2019 to 2023 he worked for Black Red White S.A. as Vice-President for Finance. Since 2023 he has been President of the Management Board of Lefima Invest P.S.A.

Over the years, he has supervised directly a number of subsidiaries within corporate groups, including as a member of supervisory boards, among others of Comp Soft Sp. z o.o., Elektrobudowa S.A., Ekotrans Bogdanka Sp. z o.o., RG Bogdanka Sp. z o.o., etc.

According to the declaration submitted, the JSW S.A. Supervisory Board member meets the independence criteria set out in Rule 2.3. of the "Best Practices of Companies Listed on WSE 2021".
