In Q4, JSW produced 3.49 million tons of coal, 9 percent more than a year earlier. Coking coal production amounted to 3.00 million tons, and steam coal production to 0.49 million tons. Total coal sales reached 3.77 million tons, which represents an increase of almost 24% year-on-year. Approximately 69% of the volume went to external customers.
The most dynamic growth was recorded in the sale of steam coal, which exceeded 1.16 million tons in Q4, more than twice as much as a year earlier. Coking coal sales, in turn, were lower than in Q3, which was due to restrictions on steel production in Europe and a reduction in orders from steel mills.
The coke segment also recorded good sales results. Coke production increased by 22% year-on-year to 0.85 million tons, while sales rose to 0.91 million tons, thanks in part to the fulfillment of earlier contracts and logistical shifts.
The year 2025 was marked by price pressure, growing steel imports from Asia, and competition from cheap coke from outside the European Union.
JSW's results were affected by, among other things, endogenous fires in the Budryk and Borynia-Zofiówka mines, as well as an infrastructure failure at the Coal Preparation Plant in Budryk at the end of November.
Cumulatively, in 2025, JSW produced 13.01 million tons of coal, achieving 97.3% of the plan, and 3.15 million tons of coke, which means 100.8% of the plan was achieved. Coal sales reached 96.7% and coke sales reached 100.2% of the annual targets.
Despite the difficult market environment and operational problems, JSW ended 2025 with a significant year-on-year increase in volumes and maintained a stable production position. The company announces further measures aimed at restoring full production capacity in 2026.
