- Screening tests are the next stage of our preventive actions being taken to ensure the safety of our employees and the keep our mines operational. JSW has the organizational and technical capacity to complete the tests this weekend - said Włodzimierz Hereźniak, President of the JSW S.A. Management Board.

- We are cooperating with the Silesian Voivode and local public health services. The suppression of infectious foci is a prerequisite for continuing the uninterrupted operation of our mines. Because our employees are experiencing asymptomatic coronavirus infections, such tests are the most effective way to combat the pandemic - emphasized Artur Dyczko, Vice-President of the Management Board and head of the Crisis Management Team at JSW.

The test kits have been purchased using JSW’s funds. The tests will be administered to miners ending their shifts without interrupting any ongoing mining operations. Only miners obtaining a negative test result will be permitted to work underground.

Since the beginning of the risk of pandemic, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has been focusing on minimizing the risk of coronavirus infection and maintaining jobs.

- The fate of tens of thousands of jobs in the region depends on JSW. We are acting with resolve because we are aware of our great responsibility - added the Vice-President and head of the Crisis Management Team.

- The pandemic will end someday. We have demonstrated that even in the most difficult times we are capable of ensuring the safety of our employees with the requirements of our business. We have chosen a tough but optimal way to go - said President Włodzimierz Hereźniak.
