Meeting of the JSW Foundation Supervisory Board

On 13 May 2019, in the seat of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, a meeting of the JSW Foundation Supervisory Board was held. At the meeting, the key areas of the Foundation’s activity were presented, including: culture and tradition, leisure and recreation, science and education, and health and safety.

 

The above areas are consistent with the objectives laid down in the JSW Foundation Charter, which is the fundamental document regulating the Foundation’s activity.

The JSW Foundation conducts activity benefiting the public and the community in the 16 Mining Townshipsaffected by the operations of JSW Group units, i.e.: Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Mszana, Świerklany, Pawłowice, Suszec, Żory, Czerwionka-Leszczyny, Ornontowice, Knurów, Pilchowice, Gliwice, Gierałtowice, Mikołów, Radlin, Zabrze and Dąbrowa Górnicza. The JSW Foundation hopes for efficient and effective cooperation with the representatives of the above Mining Townships.

Support is provided in the form of financial or in-kind donations, and their scope has to be aligned with the 34 categories of objectives specified in the Charter.

Acting on the basis of an annual budget, the Foundation manages its resources on the basis of the principle of rationality, efficiency and economic prudence, intending to support as many projects as possible, maximizing the scale of their impact and the group of potential beneficiaries.

The JSW Foundation’s donations are granted on the basis of applications, on the rules defined in the JSW Foundation’s Donation Bylaws, available on the Foundation’s website. The decisions on granting donations are made by the Foundation’s Management Board, assisted by the Foundation’s Supervisory Board and the Founder. Donations are made on the basis of a donation agreement and their settlement is subject to reporting duties. A model application for a donation can be found on the JSW Foundation’s website (www.fundacjajsw.pl)

JSW is the Founder of the JSW Foundation with its registered office in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, established to ensure transparency of the Company’s charitable activity, strengthen the social engagement and support the development of JSW’s image as a socially responsible company.
