In accordance with a letter from the District Mining Authority in Gliwice, a methane explosion with coal dust and an exogenous fire was caused by an intense outflow of methane as a result of coal mining at the long-wall using explosives.
25 February 2019 JSW and Prairie Mining Limited ("Prairie") extend by another six months, i.e. to 28 September 2019, a confidentiality agreement executed on 28 March 2018 regarding potential cooperation on Prairie's coal projects in Poland.

20 May 2019 An agreement is signed between PRIMETECH S.A., its subsidiary PBSz1 and JSW regarding the sale of PBSz S.A. shares. Pursuant to the agreement, JSW buys 4 430 476 bearer shares, constituting approx. 95.01% of PBSz's share capital.
28 May 2019 JSW secures a concession for the mining of hard coal and methane as an associated mineral at the Bzie Dębina 1-Zachód deposit. The concession is valid until 31 December 2051.

12 June 2019 JSW KOKS S.A. signs agreement with Rafako S.A. for the construction of a power generating unit with cogeneration capacity of 28 MWe and 37 MWt, fuelled with coke oven gas.
2 July 2019 JSW's Management Board and trade unions reach agreement on payment of an additional cash bonus for JSW employees. The total amount of the bonus is PLN 163.0 million. The bonus payment satisfies the trade unions' demands raised on the basis of the Act on collective dispute resolution.
3 July 2019 In allocating net profit for the financial year ended 31 December 2018, JSW's General Meeting sets a dividend payment for shareholders at PLN 200.8 million. The dividend is paid on 10 September 2019.
6 August 2019 Becker Warkop presents to JSW's Management Board and key directors a modern long-wall complex for KWK Budryk. The long-wall complex purchased by JSW will be used on seven successive walls.

13 September 2019 A modern longwall shearer together with a Bolter Miner is delivered to JSW by Komatsu Mining Corporation. The decision to purchase the system will make it possible to increase the scale of preparatory works and speed up works on accessing longwalls and exploiting deposits.
19 September 2019 The Minister of Environment grants JSW a concession for the exploration of a part of hard coal deposit Chełm II in the Lublin Coal Basin. The exploration concession will make it possible to conduct additional surveys of geological and mining conditions.
25 September 2019 The mine KWK Bzie-Dębina under construction is officially inaugurated in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. Mining at the first long-wall will be possible in 2022. The new mine will increase JSW's production capacities.
At the Group's Radlin coking plant, an agreement is reached ensuring a supply of heat for the residents of Radlin and the mine KWK ROW Ruch Marcel. JSW KOKS begins a project to build a modern heat-and-power plant fuelled by cove oven gas, which will eventually replace EC Marcel, which is expected to shut down at the end of 2022. The construction of this new plant will have a positive impact on the environment and will be aligned with the "Clean Air" programme.
27 September 2019 Jastrzębskie Zakłady Remontowe Sp. z o.o. unveils the first longwall chain conveyor designed and built by the company. This brings JZR into an elite group of leading producers of mining machinery and equipment.
4 October 2019 An agreement is signed in Jastrzębie-Zdrój regarding rehabilitation of the former KWK Krupiński mine. The agreement involves investments in post-mining areas and the creation of new jobs in the municipality. It is signed by four signatories: JSW Innowacje, Spółka Restrukturyzacji Kopalń, Suszec Municipality and Katowice Special Economic Zone.
7 October 2019 An apiary is built at the Ruch Borynia mine, intended to protect bees and to educate. This is JSW's new educational project for the youngest audiences.
8 October 2019 Intensive works are under-way at the former Krupiński mine to prepare the land for the construction of modern production halls. Jastrzębskie Zakłady Remontowe – a JSW Group company - is implementing the JZR Development programme.
9 October 2019 JSW makes a PLN 150 thousand donation to the Children's Intensive Care Unit at the Voivodship Specialist Hospital in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. This money is for the purchase of a mobile incubator with an integrated respirator and a system for monitoring all life functions for new-borns.

1 November 2019 An endogenous fire at KWK Knurów-Szczygłowice in a research walkway 850 metres below the ground caused by the self-ignition of coal. The fire is extinguished on 6 November 2019.
4 November 2019 After a break of more than four years, mining starts on a longwall at the Pniówek mine using a plough system.
12 November 2019 Bolter Miner 12CM30 is launched at the Budryk mine. This is the first such machine in Polish mining.
18 November 2019 Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa is one of the largest producers of edible evaporated salt in Poland. Sól Dębieńska is appreciated by Polish and foreign consumers, including in Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.
19 December 2019 JSW begins cooperating with PGNiG and the Polish Geological Institute in order to implement the Geo-metan II programme. The project is intended to acquire methane prior to deposit access work.
20 December 2019 Equipment for learning the basics of electronics and electromechanics is provided to the John Paul II School in Pawłowice. The equipment is worth PLN 54 thousand, of which PLN 48 thousand comes from JSW Foundation.
31 December 2019 JSW's Management Board decides to change the organisational structure of two mines from 1 January 2020. Ruch Jastrzębie is de-merged from KWK Borynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie and transferred to Bzie-Dębina under construction, which is re-named as KWK Jastrzębie-Bzie. The joint mine Borynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie will change into a mine with two facilities and be named KWK Borynia-Zofiówka. The name changes are technical and organisational in nature.
