    Halina Buk Function: Deputy Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board Represents: State Treasury She is an economics professor at the University of Economics in Katowice. Specialist, scientist and practitioner in the fields of corporate accounting and finance. She authored or co-authored numerous published monographs, scientific articles and academic handbooks, more than 70 scientific, research and commissioned papers on economics, and corporate organization, restructuring programs and financial planning. She is an academic lecturer in graduate, post-graduate and doctoral courses, on subjects such as financial accounting, management accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, consolidated reporting, controlling. Prof. Halina Buk was an economic consultant in several dozen projects implemented in various companies, including: Agencja Rynku Energii S.A., Kompania Węglowa S.A., Koncern Energetyczny ”Energa” S.A., Huta Łabędy S.A. and KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. She has received numerous distinctions, including: the Golden Cross of Merit, the Silver Cross of Merit twice, Medal of the National Education Commission and the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
    EUGENIUSZ BARON Position: Supervisory Board Secretary Represents: JSW employees In 1982, he graduated from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice with an M.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering in the field of heavy construction machinery. He participated in numerous training courses in the following areas: manager in a changing economic environment, management, duties and rules of operation of the Supervisory Board audit committee, Public Procurement Law, cost estimation, geological and mining law, new Labor Code, risk management, controlling, conduct of insurance activity and how to be an effective manager. Since 1982, he has worked at the KWK Pniówek mine, currently as the chief energy and mechanical engineer. Since 2009, she has been the Secretary of the JSW Supervisory Board. Previously (2000-2007), he was a member of the JSW Supervisory Board and then Deputy Chairman of the JSW Supervisory Board (2007-2009).
    ANTONI MALINOWSKI Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: State Treasury In 1973, he graduated from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków with a mining engineer degree. In 1973-1974, he worked at the lignite mine KWB “Konin” in Konin. In 1974-1976, he was the plant manager at Warszawskie Zakłady Eksploatacji Kruszywa in Warsaw. In 1976-1983, he worked at the Central Research and Development Unit (COBR) of PKP (Polish Railway Company) in Warsaw as the manager of the mining laboratory. In 1983-1986, he was employed at MB and PMB in Warsaw. In addition, in 1989-1993, he worked at PPH “Marbetex” sp. z o.o. in Warsaw as a Management Board member. In 1986-1990, he worked at Przedsiębiorstwo Produkcji i Organizacji Dostaw in Warsaw. Since 1993, he has been a civil servant at the ministries in charge of the coal mining industry. In the past, he was a member of the Supervisory Boards of CZW “Węglozbyt” (until 1996), Katowicki Holding Węglowy S.A. (until 2008) and Kompania Węglowa S.A. (until 2009). Until 2000, he was also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the mine “Jan Kanty” S.A.
    ALOJZY NOWAK Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: State Treasury In 2002, he gained the title of Professor of Economics. He was Vice Rector for Scientific Research and Cooperation at the University of Warsaw. Currently, he is Dean of the Management Department of the University of Warsaw and heads the National Economy Faculty and the Institute for International Economic Relations at the Department of Management of the University of Warsaw and the Faculty of Finance at the Kozminski University in Warsaw. Chairman of the Scientific Board of the European Center at the University of Warsaw. He is a member of the Supreme Development Council and Vice-President of BSURN. He completed studies in banking and finance at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom and economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in the United States and the Free University of Berlin in Germany. Member of the Scientific Research Committee of the National Bank of Poland and member of the NewConnect advisory committee to the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. His academic interests are focused on banking, international economic relations and risk management in financial markets. His Ph.D. dissertation concerned monetary policy issues and his habilitation dissertation concerned finance and banking issues. The author of more than 250 scientific publications on the processes of regional integration and monetary unions, foreign investments, business cycles, banking and international economic relations published by Polish and foreign publishers and scientific journals. Member of program councils and editorial boards of a number of Polish and foreign scientific journals, including Gazeta Bankowa, Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics, Cross-Cultural Management, Yearbook on Polish European Studies, Problemy Zarządzania, etc. Lecturer of subjects such as banking, commercial bank, money and money markets, economic analysis of the European Union, European Union’s finances on Polish and foreign universities in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Russia. Recipient of many awards for academic achievements, including, among other things, the Award of the Minister of National Education for the book "Banks and households – rate of development" and the book "European Union – an opportunity for Poland" Head of projects funded by the European Union, NATO and the State Committee for Scientific Research (KBN).
    ROBERT KUDELSKI Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: JSW employees In 2000, he graduated from the Catholic University of Lublin with an M.A. degree in management and marketing. In 2007, he also completed postgraduate studies in public procurement law at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In the years 1999-2002, he was a Supervisory Board member of Centralne Zakłady Automatyki Hutnictwa S.A. in Katowice. In the years 2009-2012, he was a Supervisory Board member of Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego “DASZEK” Sp. z o.o. in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. Since 1993, he has worked at JSW. Since 2012, a Supervisory Board Member at JSW.
    ANDRZEJ PALARCZYK Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: JSW employees In 1985, he graduated from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków with the degree of M.A. Eng., majoring in mining geodesy. In 2004, he completed postgraduate studies at the Silesian University of Technology in environmental protection management. He earned a mining surveyor’s license and an independent surveyor’s license. He attended numerous courses in management, public procurement law, risk management, controlling and mining and geological law. From 1985 to 1 April 2017, he worked at the Krupiński mine as the chief engineer for the preparation of production, investments and development of the mine. Currently, he is employed by KWK Pniówek as the supervisor of production preparation. In 1996-2006, he worked as the chief surveying and geological engineer of the mine.
    KRZYSZTOF KWAŚNIEWSKI Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: State Treasury Krzysztof Kwaśniewski: graduate, doctor of technical sciences, since 1975 employee of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. Specialist in the area of strategic management, restructuring, corporate finance and innovation management, he delivers lectures and seminars for undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA students at the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Kraków University of Economics. Author of articles and handbooks covering the topics of evaluation of growth strategies and economic efficiency of the use of energy commodities. During his long career, he has been combining the functions of an academic teacher, a consultant working on behalf of companies, banks and government institutions, and a manager. Since 2009, a member of the Supervisory Board of the INNOAGH Center for Innovative Technologies, a company established to commercialize innovative projects based on the know-how and intellectual property of AGH employees. In 2010-2015, a coordinator of the research project entitled “Comprehensive evaluation and selection of strategic directions for coal gasification" executed within the framework of the research task called “Development of a coal gasification technology for highly efficient production of fuels and electricity” carried out as part of the strategic research and development program of the National Center for Research and Development. Earlier in the 1990s, AGH’s coordinator of the program for the restructuring of the metallurgical sector in Poland executed by AGH and Beddows&Co. For a number of years, as a consultant to industrial enterprises, he has managed and participated in the execution of more than 140 research projects performed on their behalf. His clients included: Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A., Polskie Huty Stali S.A., KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., PGNiG S.A., Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A., Bank Przemysłowo Handlowy S.A., ArcelorMittal Poland S.A. PAK S.A. and many others.
    ADAM PAWLICKI Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: State Treasury He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Katowice. Specialist in Strategic and Operational Management, Financial Management, Restructuring of Companies, Controlling. Since 2016 he has served as a Management Board Member of Track Tec Construction Sp. o.o. and since 2011 the President of Wizard Sp. o.o. From 2014 to 2016 he was the Chief Financial Officer at Chopin Airport Development Sp. z o.o. From 2008 to 2011 he was the Chief Financial Officer at PEC Katowice (currently Tauron Ciepło Sp. z o.o.). From 1996 to 2008 he worked for the CTL Logistics Group in Warsaw as Management Board Member, Deputy Director General for Finance and Director of the Internal Logistics Division
    TOMASZ LIS Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: State Treasury Mr. Tomasz Lis is a Doctor of Economic Sciences of the University of Economics in Katowice. In his professional life he combined the work of a university teacher, scientist and practitioner. He is a lecturer at university and postgraduate studies. He lectures on accounting in the context of national and international standards, management accounting, financial reporting, tax issues, financial audit, cost accounting, consolidated reporting, management of resources and assets. Tomasz Lis is the author of many publications and research projects in Poland and abroad. Member of organizations such as the Polish Economic Society and the Association of Accountants in Poland, acts also as an expert at the Economic Congresses. He has professional qualifications granted by the Minister of Finance for bookkeeping services. With his team, he carried out and provided academic oversight over several projects for the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Finance on the testing of the public spending efficiency. He carried out individually, in a team or as an economic expert dozens of projects for enterprises, including Energa S.A., Kompania Węglowa S.A., PGE Polish Energy Group, PKN Orlen, PKP S.A., Orange S.A. He implemented reporting systems in the areas of energy, water and sewage. For his service, he was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission and the Medal for Long Service.
    ARKADIUSZ WYPYCH Position: Supervisory Board Member Represents: JSW employees Mr. Arkadiusz Wypych graduated in 2002 from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. In 2013, also at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, he obtained a master’s degree in mechanical engineering majoring in mining and drilling machinery and equipment. Mr. Wypych started his professional career in 1995 and since then has worked in various commercial undertakings, including in the following positions: surveyor, sales and marketing manager, construction inspector, trade manager, technical and commercial advisor. In 2007, he joined JSW’s Material Logistics Center in the position of procurement inspector, then in 2008 he joined KWK Borynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie, Zofiówka Section, as a specialist and currently a shift foreman in the shaft and elevator equipment division.

  • Changes in the JSW Supervisory Board in 2017

    • On 9 February 2017, the Supervisory Board elected Ms. Halina Buk to be Deputy Chairperson of the JSW Supervisory Board of the 9th term of office.
    • The Supervisory Board seconded Mr. Daniel Ozon to act temporarily in the capacity of President of the JSW Management Board as of 6 March 2017, but no longer than until 6 June 2017.
    • The Supervisory Board seconded Mr. Daniel Ozon to act temporarily in the capacity of President of the JSW Management Board from 8 June 2017 to 7 September 2017, inclusively, though no longer than until the date of appointing the President of the Management Board.

  • Changes to the JSW Supervisory Board after the end date of the reporting period

    On 18 January 2018, the Shareholder Meeting adopted a resolution to appoint Mr. Arkadiusz Wypych, elected by JSW’s employees, to JSW’s Supervisory Board.
