Support for education

JSW Group's long-term cooperation with local governments in areas where its companies operate is a good example of symbiosis between business and local community. This cooperation concerns mining education at schools that fall under the mandate of local government. From JSW Group's point of view, this is a solution that maintains a pipeline of qualified mining workers who are just entering the job market, which helps to alleviate the generational gap issue. This cooperation is intended to raise the quality of education for young people by offering internships and support for various types of educational projects, which results in potential for the Company's development and ensures optimal conditions for JSW Group's effective and efficient operations. Aside from JSW SA, CLP-B, JSK and JSU are undertaking such cooperation.

In 2018 JSW SA created a special scholarship program for these schools' pupils who are receiving education in mining professions. Unfortunately, a trend has been seen for several years now whereby students complete their vocational education without taking the formal state exam that provides mining qualifications, which are required by JSW Group.

In 2021, JSW funded 1038 scholarships.

Many Group companies cooperate with high schools and universities, chiefly for apprenticeships as well as possible employment guarantees. JSW, CLP-B, JSK and JSU are among the entities participating in this cooperation. JSW IT Systems has in place the Graduate Apprenticeship Regulations, under which the Apprenticeship Program operates. JSW has a special scholarship program for pupils studying on a daily basis in schools providing an education in mining occupations; they are covered by the provisions of the memorandums of understanding executed by JSW in connection with collaboration in respect of organizing the practical teaching of the profession in the form of practical lessons or professional practices for pupils and employment guarantees in JSW for graduates. The JSW Management Board awards scholarships to pupils attending mining classes in schools after they fulfill the conditions defined by the scholarship rules and regulations. In addition to apprenticeships Group companies also cooperate with local labor offices.

CLP-B is an example for scientific and research cooperation with various institutions, as it works with the Natural Science Faculty of the Earth Science Institute at the Silesian University in Katowice. Currently, the cooperation is taking place in the field of two doctorates.

JSW Group also cooperation with the following universities on a long-term basis:
