The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa made a decision to spin off a new mine from the Borynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie Integrated Mine, named Bzie-Dębina from the name of the coal deposit. The decision made by the Management Board was approved at the end of January by the Company’s Supervisory Board.
The winners of the competition for an environmental information and educational campaign prepared by students were announced. The prizes for the best teams were handed by Daniel Ozon, JSW President of the Management Board, and Vice-Presidents: Tomasz Śledź and Artur Wojtków.
A holy mass in the Jastrzębie-Zdrój Church on The Hill and a concert of sacral music for the intention of the miners who went on their eternal shift were the highlight of the 1st Jastrzębie-Zdrój Overview of Religious Films Dedicated to Pope John Paul II “I Kept Looking For You”. The solemn mass was attended by Grzegorz Tobiszowski, Vice-Minister of Energy, and Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of Śląskie Voivodship. The event, under the patronage of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa, lasted three days.
SIGMA is to deliver to Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa a system for cutting longwall faces and other areas in mines to be used for roadway excavation employing a specialist bolter miner. This is the outcome of many months of work on devising solutions to supplement the longwall face equipment with a bolter miner. A contract pertaining to this matter was signed today in JSW’s registered office.

The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has made a decision to continue its cooperation with sports clubs. In the JSW headquarters in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, agreements were signed with the authorities of four clubs: Jastrzębski Węgiel, JKH GKS Jastrzębie, GKS Jastrzębie and GKS Pniówek.
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa has formally established the governing bodies of the JSW Foundation to collaborate with local governments and support local initiatives. The JSW Management Board has elected to create this organization to strengthen the JSW Group’s image as a company espousing the principles of corporate social responsibility and demonstrating its charitable commitment.
