Representatives of CSIRO, an Australian research agency, are paying a three-day visit to Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. This agency is one of the largest of its type in the world. The Australians’ visit to JSW is one of the outcomes of the agreement signed two months ago during an economic mission headed up by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda with the participation of Deputy Minister Grzegorz Tobiszowski.

PLN 200 million of funding awarded to modernize a coke oven battery in the Przyjaźń Coking Plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza. JSW KOKS and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management signed an agreement under the E-KUMULATOR Ecological Accumulator for Industry Program on 17 October 2018 in the Voivodship Office in Katowice. This will be the largest investment in this coking plant’s history.
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa and Joy Global (Poland) signed a letter of intent to conduct comprehensive research and analyses of the possibilities of using modern autonomous longwall systems in JSW mines. The agreement was signed on 28 September in Katowice during the New Industry EXPO conference.
