Laparoscopic tower for a hospital

The first laparoscopic tower featuring the 3D technology in the Silesia region has been donated to a hospital in Jastrzębie-Zdrój by the JSW Foundation. So far, this is the most valuable donation provided by the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa Foundation.

A cutting-edge laparoscopic tower was delivered to the Voivodship Specialist Hospital no. 2 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój to equip the urology and urologic oncology department. Through support of the JSW Foundation, urological procedures will be even more precise and safe.

– From the point of view of the Foundation’s budget, this is the most expensive piece of equipment that we’ve purchased so far. It costs nearly half a million zloty. I believe however that this is money very well spent to benefit all of us, not only the residents of Jastrzębie-Zdrój, but also the neighboring areas - said Artur Dyczko, Vice-President of the Management Board for Technical and Operational Matters and President of the JSW Foundation.– Modern mining cannot exist without positive relations with the community – he added.

According to the physicians, the laparoscope sponsored by the JSW Foundation is a gem among devices of this type.

– This equipment meets absolutely all the requirements for treatments using laparoscopic methods. With this device, we are able to provide our patients with not just European but world class treatment – asserted Marek Kampka, physician at the Voivodship Specialist Hospital no. 2 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.

It is worth noting that through cooperation with the Voivodship Specialist Hospital no. 2 in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, a free diagnostic testing program has been launched entitled “Prevention and early detection of prostate cancer for JSW SA employees above 50 years of age”. The tests are financed by the JSW Foundation. The free diagnostic testing program will be recommenced whenever the sanitary and epidemiological conditions allow.
