The event is organized by the Association of Mining Engineers and Technicians in Rybnik and JSW Innowacje is the partner responsible for the content of the event. On April 11th and 12th, scientists, representatives of mining companies and entrepreneurs will discuss safety and efficiency of mining based on Industry 4.0.

The inauguration and the plenary session will be held on Thursday at the International Congress Center in Katowice. The invited guests will include, among others, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Australian ambassador, scientists, businessmen and other people associated with the mining industry. The first day will be devoted to the raw material industrial policy and innovative mining technologies.

The thematic panels scheduled for the second day of the Forum, among others in Katowice and Jastrzębie-Zdrój, will be devoted to various issues related to digitization, automation and robotization in underground mining operations. The panelists will focus the activities that could improve safety of work and mining operations in the presence of natural hazards and also the promising shaft sinking techniques and technologies. One of the more interesting subjects is the coal - coke - gas - hydrogen relationship and carbon nanostructures as a response to the challenges of the circular economy. Other discussed issues will include revitalization of post-mining areas based on the example of the former Krupiński mine, automation in the preparatory works process and application of modern technologies in coal preparation processes.

IMF 2019 continues the international cooperation of various communities within the mining industry, which started two years ago. The time has come to look closely at the effects of that meeting and set new directions.

The International Mining Forum conference was created in 2004 at the initiative of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. The Main Organizer of IMF 2019 is the Rybnik Branch of the Association of Mining Engineers and Technicians, while Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa became the host of this immensely prestigious conference for the second time.
