Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa is the first company to have signed an agreement with the Polish State Forests Information Center on promotional activities during the global Climate Summit. Accordingly, JSW has become a partner of the Polish National Pavilion at the COP24 Conference to be held in Katowice later this year.
Representatives of CSIRO, an Australian research agency, are paying a three-day visit to Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa. This agency is one of the largest of its type in the world. The Australians’ visit to JSW is one of the outcomes of the agreement signed two months ago during an economic mission headed up by the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda with the participation of Deputy Minister Grzegorz Tobiszowski.
Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa acquired Carbon Dioxide Units in the first auction held by the Polish State Forests. In agreement with the Kobiór Forestry Region financial support has been designated to modernize the educational path in the Bison Reserve in Jankowice Pszczyńskie.
PLN 200 million of funding awarded to modernize a coke oven battery in the Przyjaźń Coking Plant in Dąbrowa Górnicza. JSW KOKS and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management signed an agreement under the E-KUMULATOR Ecological Accumulator for Industry Program on 17 October 2018 in the Voivodship Office in Katowice. This will be the largest investment in this coking plant’s history.
