Body of the report:

The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. (“JSW”, “Company”) reports that on 23 April of this year, a shock wave combined with an intense methane discharge transpired in the Zofiówka Section of KWK Borynia-Zofiówka. Earlier, on 20 April of this year, KWK Pniówek experienced an event involving the explosion and combustion of methane followed by secondary explosions. These events are unrelated to one another.

The event in the Zofiówka Section of the Borynia-Zofiówka mine transpired in a location where mining activities were not being conducted, namely in roadway gallery D-4a on the 900 m level.

The explosion in the Pniówek mine took place on longwall N-6 in seam 404/4+405/1 at the 1000 m level. Extraction from this longwall was slated to be wrapped up in June of this year. The longwall where the explosion took place is one of six longwalls the Pniówek mine operates.

At the same time, the Company reports that it maintains regular contact with its business partners to agree on ongoing coal shipments from the various mines belonging to JSW on an operational basis.

After completing the rescue operations and conducting the indispensable analyses, the Company will convey information regarding the impact exerted by these events on JSW.
