Decision regarding additional preventive measures in connection with the spread of infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in JSW

Body of the Report:

The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. (“JSW”, “Company”) reports that on 10 May 2020 it adopted a resolution to undertake additional decisive preventive measures to contain the spread of infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the Company’s Pniówek Coal Mine (“KWK Pniówek”).

This decision aims to organize work in KWK Pniówek in a manner that ensures the safety of the staff and the continued operation of the mine. The preventive measures that have been introduced encompass the following:

-  testing the mine’s entire staff for the presence of coronavirus;

-  until these tests are conducted KWK Pniówek will be operated solely by employees who have tested negatively to the presence of coronavirus;

-  until the epidemic situation stabilizes all employees who work in KWK Pniówek must be tested for the presence of coronavirus, while the option to work will depend on test results.

The actual magnitude of the effects of the spreading of infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in KWK Pniówek is currently unknown and cannot be estimated, and it depends on multiple factors that are subject to dynamic change.

According to assurances made thus far, the Company’s Management Board is monitoring on an ongoing basis the developments associated with the persisting effects of the spread of the coronavirus and their impact on the operations of KWK Pniówek, the overall Company and the JSW Group.

We will report any material circumstances affecting the Company’s current business position or that may affect the Company’s current or future financial results.
