The Management Board of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. (“Company”, “JSW S.A.”) hereby reports that on 6 October 2017, the Company’s Supervisory Board adopted a resolution to appoint Mr. Tomasz Śledź as of today to the Management Board of JSW S.A. and appointed him to the position of the Vice-President for Technical Matters of JSW S.A.’s Management Board of the 9th term.
Mr. Tomasz Śledź graduated from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice with his major in the Mining of Deposits and Waste Management. In 2011, he completed postgraduate studies at the Department of Organization and Management at the Silesian University of Technology in Corporate Project Management.
From the outset of his career he has been active in the mining industry. He began to work in 1988 as a miner, then foreman, then supervisor until he became the chief mining engineer - head of the mining department. From September 2015 to January 2017 he served as the Production Director at JSW S.A.’s Knurów-Szczygłowice hard coal mine, and subsequently he served as the Production Director of the Szczygłowice Section of the Knurów-Szczygłowice hard coal mine.
In 2010 he took part in the work to merge the Knurów mine with the Szczygłowice mine, and then in 2014 he participated in the incorporation of the Knurów-Szczygłowice Mine intoJastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A.
During his career he has focused on enhancing and improving occupational safety and health standards.He has co-authored numerous articles and publications regarding initiatives and new ideas in the mining industry.
According to his declarations, Mr. Tomasz Śledź does not conduct activity competitive to that of the Company and is not involved in any competitive company as a partner in a civil law company or partnership or as a member of a corporate body of a capital company, or participate in another competing legal person as a member of its corporate body. In addition, he is not entered in the register of insolvent debtors kept pursuant to the provisions of the National Court Register Act.
